I'm not sure if someone has come accross this "fix", but there's an italian guy that "redesigned" the wcdma antenna on his ZP980. He claims that all his problems are gone now. The link to the mod is http://www.technoforum.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=7372

Also, here's a pic of the new antenna.

Warning: If you do this to your phone, there's a 99% chance you'll ruin it forever, not to mention your warranty is gone.

I too like many others have problems with my new ZP 980 , 32 GB, i have a 3 network micro Sim in the micro slot with all you can eat data plan, and a Tesco normal Sim card in the other. Was running the 3 network Sim card in my old Galaxy GTP1000 tab until I bought the Zopo .
When I use it in the Galaxy it is super fast ,giving me the ability to stream music , use BBC I Player ect, with no problems.   As soon as I transfer it over to the ZOPO the signale drops right off the scale.
This suggest a problem with the antena or the software, has anybody found similarer problems ,and if so any remedy's ???. I REALY WANT TO LIKE THIS PHONE, BUT AT THE MOMENT I AM ONE STEP AWAY FROM GETTING PAYPAL INVOLVED.

What did he do to the wifi antenna? What it seems like to me he took tinfoil and tapped it there. Tinfoil is a good way to receive better signals too.

What he did is to CUT the old WCDMA antenna and replaced it with "thin foil aerials". I would not do this to my phone.

I'd rather return it to the manufacturer, as I love the phone, but I need data and calls.

Too bad I get neither.

Maybe in the future, they'll fix the radio, but for now, it's eating the battery only.

I hate my zp980 seems not first of here, is really useless, not quite that lost mobile network coverage is in addition a second card is even worse coverage yet so I bought a dual-sim for what @!#%^&

after these three months after the purchase is getting worse
Shame, such a shot in the foot - would recommend to others and myself had to buy Captain S but now I prefer to stay away from the pseudo company that cares about customers

This is madness... I will never buy Zopo products again.
Bad quality, malfunctioning products.
Too bad - great specs - lousy value and credibility.
